You’ve already heard about the install of this beautiful building on our last blog, so now it’s time to get into how Garrison Brothers Distillery transformed their Tuff Shed into a cozy gathering space.
From intentional design decisions like wood stain and paint color, to custom Garrison Brothers & Tuff Shed components, this backyard bar is nothing like you’ve ever seen before.

Recap: Tuff Shed and Garrison Brothers Distillery
In case you missed it, here’s a recap:
Rob Cordes, Head of Marketing at Garrison Brothers Distillery, wanted to create the ultimate at-home bourbon destination. So of course, he came to Tuff Shed. After collaborating, designing, and building, the backyard bourbon barn was born.
A 10 x 12 Premier PRO Tall Ranch with a clerestory upgrade was installed at Garrison Brothers Distillery. It features a metal roof, double door with in-door transom windows, and corner trim. The building is a sleek, excellent example of Tuff Shed’s craftsmanship and execution.
“The installers did a phenomenal job,” said Ryan Wilson, General Manager of the Tuff Shed Austin location. “It was such a fun project to be a part of, and I enjoyed seeing it through from inspiration to install.”
Finishing Out the Inside
After the building was installed on the property, the Garrison Brothers team got to work finishing out the interior.
“The goal was for this building to be a warm and welcoming space that would encourage family and friends to gather and share Garrison Brothers bourbon,” said Rob. “We made intentional choices every step of the way to ensure the building spoke to our Texas heritage and our product.”
The Garrison Brothers team insulated the building from top to bottom and installed flooring. Unfortunately, a heat spell hit Texas (who would’ve thought) while Rob and his sister painted the interior, but all their hard work was well worth it.
“It took us about 6 days to get everything done inside,” said Rob. “We wanted the building to represent Garrison Brothers—the stain, the wood, everything replicates our first barrel barn.”
Features inside the backyard bourbon barn include a couch, chair, and bar (of course). Garrison Brothers Distillery had a custom lighted sign made to highlight the partnership, and it’s one of Rob’s favorite parts of the building. Oh, and you’ll also see a big long horn skull on the wall—if that doesn’t scream Texas, we don’t know what does.
The Final Product
“The motto on the back of our bottle is ‘Good bourbon can change the world,’ and honestly a good backyard bourbon barn can do the same,” said Rob.
We whole-heartedly agree.
Garrison Brothers and Tuff Shed teamed up to create more than just a backyard bar. It’s a one-of-a-kind space the celebrates craftsmanship, quality, and community.
