All golfers want more green time. Especially in the winter.
Enter the golf simulator. No space? Enter Tuff Shed.
We were super excited to get in on the golf simulator shed action and jumped at the opportunity when a special project came our way, joining with Impact Sports along with Military Warriors Support Foundation and PGA Reach Foundation to honor decorated veteran Dan Scipioni and his family. The Purple Heart and National Defense Service Medal recipient was awarded this Tuff Shed and golf simulator as part of an even larger donation from MWSF and Bank of America’s Homes4WoundedHeroes program.
The Tuff Shed marketing team was so inspired by this project that we flew out to Rochester to experience it all first-hand.
The Scipioni family worked closely with Tuff Shed to design this 14×18 Premier PRO Tall Barn. It includes custom features to make it perfectly suited for a golf simulator, like added wall height so there is plenty of space for backswings, as well as a reinforced floor. It also features residential full lite French doors and our new black single-hung windows.
Installing a barn in upstate New York in snowy November may have challenged some, but we weren’t scared.
“Tuff Shed is amazing. The process was painless, flawless—it was unreal,” said Dan. “They moved right through the weather, and it was impressive to watch my new building go up that fast. We woke up Monday and it was just a backyard, and at the end of the day I was like ‘wow’.”
“I mean look at it, it’s beautiful,” added Dan’s wife, Rachel.
Impact Sports outfitted the building with a golf simulator, including all the bells and whistles. The interior is insulated and lined with felt, and the projector and large screen were installed as well. There’s also some padding around the screen, just in case there are any stray shots (not that there will be). A heating and air conditioning mini split were installed to keep the building climate-controlled and comfortable. Now, Dan and his family can practice their swings year-round in their brand-new Tuff Shed, and their friends can’t wait to check it out either.
“They’re already jealous. Already blowing me up about when they get to come over,” said Dan. “I told them next week, because I get first dibs.”
Year-round tee times are pretty easy to come by when the course is five steps from your backdoor. (No golf cart needed.) With all the practice the Scipionis will be getting this winter, they’ll surely be ready for the first annual family golf tournament next spring.
Golf Simulator Sheds are Just the Beginning
It was an honor to take part in this special project for the Scipioni family. Tuff Shed is excited to continue installing beautiful buildings and exploring exciting use cases.
